About me!
  • Background

Majored at UVA in Electrical Engineering for undergrad from 2012-2016. Designed radios, gps systems and wireless communications

Currently attending a masters program in CS at Georgia Tech from 2019-2020. Group projects include developing web and mobile applications

Worked as a patent examiner at the USPTO examining database invention applications from 2017-2020

Completed AppAcademy, a 16 month intensive coding program

  • Why coding?

Modern day problems require modern day solutions. Of the many tools we have at our disposal, I believe coding offers a breadth of ways to tackle problems. Having a problem with centralized financial institutions? DeFi built on blockchain offers a solution. Need a way to protect sensitive data? Hashing and encryption provide methods that pen and paper cannot

  • Technologies used

Tools from a toolbox I've found helpful include various apis like Google Maps(visualize locations) and Realtor(Fetching real estate data). Libraries I've used in development include React/Redux for frontend management of components and states and Recharts for data visualizations. Also worked in Android Studio to develop simple mobile applications on any android device

Tractor

Tractor is a family of point-based, trick-taking card games played in China and in Chinese immigrant communities. They have a dynamic trump, i.e., which cards are trump changes every round. As these games are played over a wide area with no standardization, rules vary widely from region to region. The game can be played with multiple decks of cards. With one deck, it may be called dǎ bǎi fēn (打百分, 'competing for a hundred points') or sìshí fēn (四十分, 'forty points'); with two decks, as is most commonly played, it may be called bāshí fēn (八十分, 'eighty points'), tuō lā jī (拖拉機, 'tractor'), shuāng kōu (雙摳, 'double digging out'), or shuāng shēng (雙升, 'double upgrade'); another variant is called zhǎo péngyǒu (找朋友, 'Finding Friends'), which has five or more players and two or more decks. Built with JavaScript
